Mostly associated with evening wear, ruched clothing has such a simplistic yet classy design that is commonly seen on the sleeve or the hem of clothing. However, the likes of Topshop have recently began to play around with this sewing technique and are utilising it in a way that adds a very flattering fit to some everyday pieces. This polka dot blouse for example, has a ruched front which creates an almost cropped aspect to the blouse and also, draws attention to the waist. I paired the blouse with a pair of trusty black Joni jeans as their high waist fit was perfect to compliment the length of the blouse.
Below is an edit of some of the brands that are equally sharing their love for ruching right now and the blouses that I think are essential for your day-to-day wardrobe if you wish to pair a little ruched number with a casual pair of jeans like me.
